Call for applications for Community Culture Development Fund – Culture Development category

Not-for-profit organizations that deliver arts, culture and heritage initiatives in Red Deer are invited to apply for funding through The City of Red Deer’s Community Culture Development Fund – Culture Development category.

The grant program provides financial support to assist organizations with projects building capacity to provide a service, managing a cultural facility, acting as an umbrella organization for other cultural organizations, developing new programs or services, or hosting a special event or festival.

The Culture Development category provides funding over a three-year cycle. In 2023, a total of $50,000 in funding is available, with a maximum of $30,000 per application for 1-2 year projects planned for 2024/2025. The deadline for applications is Friday, September 29 at 4:00 p.m. Applications must be submitted electronically through SmartSimple, The City’s online grant application portal.

Last year, a total of $346,825 was allocated to 19 projects led by not-for-profit organizations throughout Red Deer. 2023 marks year two in the Culture Development category’s three-year funding cycle.

Interested groups can find application guidelines and a link to the application on the City’s website. For more information and to apply online, visit https://www.reddeer.ca/recreation-and-culture/arts-and-culture/community-culture-grants/community-culture-development-fund/.
