About Todayville: Launched in 2016 in Red Deer, Alberta, Todayville now operates growing platforms in Edmonton, Calgary and Red Deer as well as “Here to Mars”, showcasing music and the arts. The goal of the company is to expand through partnerships with news and media professionals as well as digital media companies, charitable organizations, and entrepreneurs who see a gap in the creation, aggregation and distribution of local information.
About Lloyd: A career in broadcasting took Lloyd across the prairies from Red Deer to Winnipeg, in a career that’s encompassed significant stints as a director, producer, promotion/brand manager, and Vice President and General Manager (CTV Edmonton/CTV2 Alberta 2005-2015). An ardent supporter of community, Lloyd was appointed Honorary Colonel of 41 Signal Regiment in Alberta in 2016 and was recently appointed Honorary Colonel of the Regiment. He also serves as a Director (Alberta Chapter) of the Canadian Forces Liaison Council and as a Board Director of the Alberta Lieutenant Governor Arts Awards Foundation. He chaired the United Way campaign in Red Deer in the mid-90’s and served 6 years on the Board of Directors of the United Way of the Edmonton Capital Region (2011-2017) and many years on the Board of Directors of the Red Deer College Foundation. A collaborative and creative media pro, Lloyd is also a musician and photographer.
About Duane: After 15 years as a TV reporter with Global and CBC and as news director of the now defunct RDTV in Red Deer, Duane set out on his own 2008 in the field of video production and storytelling. During this period, he became fascinated with a burgeoning online world and how it could better serve local communities, developing a digital platform called 24/7 that operated for a few years prior to 2016, eventually becoming the source of inspiration for Todayville.Duane’s commitment to his community is defined by the amount of pro-bono video and consulting he has done for a staggering group of non-profit organizations in Central Alberta.
