Central Alberta Humane Society looking for the cutest animal in the area

Published

From The Central Alberta Humane Society

Hey, I’m Bear, last year’s photo contest WINNER! I had so much fun
taking pictures for the CAHumane calendar with Kimberly from
Chic & Grace Studios! Just look at me, her pictures are sooo beautiful!
But that’s not even the best part, by entering me in the
Calendar Photo Contest & voting, I helped raised money for shelter
animals who aren’t as lucky as me to have a loving home, but I know
they will get one soon with your help!

Your pet could be this year’s calendar cover star but first you have to
enter your furry family member into the contest for only $5 & vote, vote, vote!

They could earn one of 12 spots (6 voted, 6 selected by judges) in the
CAHumane 2020 Calendar! It is such a fun way to donate to animals in
care. Not only that but my mom won awesome prizes too & got to take
home gorgeous professional photos of me!

Check out the Calendar contest HERE to enter & don’t forget to read about the rules & prizes! On behalf of animals in care, THANK YOU!
This is Bear, signing off!

Reserve a Calendar Day is back this year!
Once again, for a $10 donation, we offer you the chance at an
automatic spot in the calendar! cChoose a day that is special to you, it
could be a birthday, anniversary, holiday, day you brought your pet
home, whatever you want & commemorate it with a photo & caption ofyour choosing! Dates are first come, first serve so pick yours before it’s taken!
Reserve a Calendar Day is not an entry into the contest itself, we invite & encourage you to enter both, all funds will go to the important care
of shelter animals.

Lacombe’s “Chairs for Charity” exploding in popularity

Lacombe's chairs for charity

Thank you to NOWCO HOME HARDWARE IN LACOMBE for submitting this post

NOWCO HOME HARDWARE’S 2NDANNUAL CHAIRS FOR CHARITY

Nowco Home Hardware has organized Chairs for Charity for the 2ndyear and it will run from July 19-31. The project started last year as a collaboration of downtown businesses to decorate downtown during Lacombe Days and raise money for a local charity. In 2018, forty five downtown businesses each bought and painted a chair to raffle off. The chairs were left on display during the 4 days of Lacombe Days and over $3100 was raised for the lunch program at J.S. McCormick School.

This year Deanna Nowochin, who has spearheaded the event wanted things to be bigger and better, so all Lacombe businesses were invited to participate in the event. This year there will be 75 chairs on display around Lacombe from July 19-31. The event was extended this year to ensure there was ample time for people to hear about Chairs for Charity and purchase tickets. The charities benefitting from 2019’s project are Lacombe Minor Football and the breakfast program at Terrace Ridge School.

This year we have 2000 tickets available, with a fundraising goal of $10,000. Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 each and can be purchased at any participating business. You can see a full list of participating businesses and photos of their chairs at www.chairsforcharitylacombe.comor by searching “Chairs for Charity Lacombe” on Facebook.
