A Dragon at the Market?
J.R.R. Tolkien said, “It simply isn’t an adventure worth telling if there aren’t any dragons.”
My adventure to the Red Deer Farmers’ Market is definitely worth telling. I met Lindsay Lundstrom of Red Dragon Handcrafts. And in her dragon’s lair was a varied collection of her many handcrafts.
As she described her work, two of the terms she used struck me–geekery and steam punk–neither of which was familiar. But she cheerfully explained and now I’m wiser.
Because Lindsay shares her spot with a friend, she attends the market every other weekend. I’d suggest you drag on down there if you aren’t already in the hobbit er habit.

This documentary captures the spirit of the region, illustrating how it has evolved over two centuries and how it continues to shape the cultural fabric of the province today.
Wild TV will make the documentary free to stream on Wild TV+ on February 14th so that it can be easily accessed in classrooms and other educational settings throughout the region, ensuring the historical significance of Fort Assiniboine reaches a wider audience.
