Honourable Minister Sarah Hoffman Visits The Lending Cupboard
The Lending Cupboard was thrilled to have the Honourable Minister Sarah Hoffman, MLA Kim Schreiner and representatives from AHS visit the organization yesterday to discuss the results of its Community Needs Assessment (CNA) report released publically in November 2016 and available at www.lendingcupboard.ca . Discussions included the unprecedented 800 % growth over the first ten years of the organization and some of the funding challenges being faced due to that growth. The Lending Cupboard Society, a charity that is often believed to be an extension of AHS currently has a small annual contract with AHS that covers less than 15% of its operating budget and otherwise takes donations, does fundraising and seeks grants to cover their costs. With a continued projected growth in the organization it is hoped more support will be considered.
