Young Local Selling Cupcakes For SPCA!
Jayda Monilaws is making a difference.
The eight year old Red Deer girl is celebrating her 4th year selling cupcakes to help support animals in the Red Deer and District SPCA.
Jayda was in kindergarten when she first decided it would be a good idea to sell cupcakes for animals who were without a forever home. That first year, her mom Nicki Monilaws helped by baking the cupcakes and selling them to neighbours and friends. Mom and daughter raised just under 0.
Three years later they’ve raised almost 00.
And year four has been a great success. Jayda sold out of her cupcakes by early afternoon. She had set up where her mom styles hair at Mane Attraction.
Proceeds from Central Alberta Cupcake Day will help the SPCA deal with an 18 percent drop in it’s operational budget in 2017, the result of a struggling economy over the past couple of years.
Cupcakes are available at the following locations:
-ATB at the Bower Mall
-Babycakes Cupcakery (where you can purchase the featured Banana Foster Cupcake)
-Bone and Biscuit, Easthill
-Clearview Dog & Cat Hospitals
-Fetch Haus
-Mane Attraction
-Piper Creek Pet Resort
-Sweetness and Shenanigans
-The Sylvan Lake Vet Clinic
