Red Deer branch of Mamas for Mamas gets a big hug from 100 Women Who Care
From 100 Women Who Care Red Deer
We kicked off our ninth year with an energetic and informative evening on February 13th. We said it would be a fun evening and we think it delivered!
Welcome to 13 new members! We are so happy to have you join us. Thank you to all of you that are recruiting friends and family to keep our organization vibrant and growing.
We heard three fantastic pitches for the Alzheimer’s Society, Red Deer Children’s Festival, and Mamas for Mamas. Thank you Keira Rudge, Judy Scott, and Marg Grandfield for really stepping up!
Marg’s pitch for Mamas for Mamas took the most votes. This is the first time we’ve heard about Mamas for Mamas. They are doing great things for families in our community. Red Deer Branch – Mamas for Mamas
Donations for Mamas for Mamas can be made through the Red Deer and District Community Foundation. There are two ways to make your donation:
- Mail a cheque to the Red Deer & District Community Foundation at 4901 48 St #503, Red Deer, AB T4N 6M4. Please write “100+ Women RD” along with “Mamas for Mamas” in the memo line.
OR
- Use this link or QR code to donate – just be sure to note the charity on the online form. If you can, please consider adding $4 to your online donation to cover the Foundation’s processing fees. Simply click on the link to do so – no need to add it to your donation.

By managing our donations and issuing the tax receipts, RDDCF takes a huge load off our shoulders. Thank you to Erin Peden, Executive Director and 100+ Women member for your ongoing support.
Denise Fredeen of Alberta Health Services gave us an overview about the Move Your Mood Studio and how our November donations aided in providing furniture and fixtures for this awesome space at the Child Advocacy Centre. She led us in a silly and fun ‘Move Your Body’ activity to demonstrate the power of movement for mental health. We looked ridiculous, but who cares? It was fun!
To date, we have raised almost $11,000 for Move Your Mood, making our total donations to local charities to about $518,000 since we began in 2015. If you haven’t made your donation to Move Your Mood it’s not too late. Follow the same directions noted above.
We are always grateful for the door prize donations. The PCN Fun Run donated a Fun Run Entry and Earls gift certificate. Thank you Bre Fitzpatrick. Adam Wolfe, Senior Wealth Advisor with Servus Wealth Strategies, donated a Moscow Mule Kit. Thank you Dayna Wolfe for making the request.
UPCOMING MEETINGS: Please mark your calendars:
- Monday, April 24
- Monday, September 11
- Monday, November 27
We’ve got a few ideas for the April 24th meeting rolling around in our noggins. Stay tuned!
With gratitude,
Cindy and Susan
