Leduc RCMP investigate phone robbery

Leduc, Alberta – On August 12, 2018 at approximately 3:50 pm, Leduc RCMP responded to a robbery at the Complete Communications store in the City of Leduc. 4 male suspects made away with an undisclosed amount of phones.

The suspects fled from the store on foot. The employee sustained minor injuries.

All four suspects are described as:

–          African American

–          Between the ages of 16-20 years old

–          Varying heights between 5’8 and 6’

Suspect 1 was wearing:

–          Blue hoodie/jacket with black hood

–          Blue jean shorts

–          White shoes

–          White tube socks pulled up

Suspect 2 was wearing:

–          Red jacket or hoodie

–          Tan pants

–          White shoes

Suspect 3 was wearing:

–          Tan hoodie

–          Dark pants

–          Black and white Nike shoes

Suspect 4 was wearing:

–          Green button up jacket

–          Blue hood

–          Black/dark pants

–          White shoes

Report from concerned citizen leads police to cash, guns, and meth

Drumheller RCMP seize 5 restricted guns, two facing charges

On October 11th 2019 Drumheller RCMP were investigating a complaint from a concerned citizen about a suspicious vehicle.  Later the same day, a patrol officer located the vehicle parked in Downtown Drumheller.  While investigating the vehicle,  a green 2004 Audi stationwagon, it was determined the plate on the vehicle was not a match and had been stolen.  A female passenger of the vehicle was detained exiting a nearby business and soon after police entered the business to look for a second suspect, the male driver. The suspect attempted to flee on foot from police but was apprehended.  When arrested the male was in possession of substantial amounts of cash and a loaded handgun found to have been stolen.  On October 12th 2019 Drumheller RCMP executed a search warrant on the green 2004 Audi stationwagon.  In that search, multiple items were seized including another stolen licence plate, Methamphetamine and suspected GHB liquid.  Police also seized an additional 3 revolvers and 1 pistol, which were located with ammunition consistent with all the calibers.  One of the firearms was reported stolen from Saskatchewan.

Possession of property obtained by crime x 2
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
Possession of stolen firearm x 2
Possession of restricted weapon together with ammunition x 5
Possession of concealed weapon
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Possession of Controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking x 2
and Fail to comply with conditions of a Recognizance x 5
He is additionally facing one charge under the provincial Traffic Safety Act for operating a vehicle while unauthorized.
He has been remanded into custody and will be appearing via CCTV in Strathmore court Tuesday October 15, 2019
April Margaret Couturier (32) of Drumheller is charged with:
Possession of property obtained by crime x 2
Possession of restricted weapon together with ammunition x 4
Possession of stolen firearm
Possession of Controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking x 2
Fail to comply with conditions of a Recognizance x 2
She has been released on her own recognizance to appear in Drumheller court on October 25, 2019

Red Deer RCMP Warn Public of High Risk Offender

Red Deer, Alta. – In the interest of public safety, Red Deer RCMP are issuing the following information and warning in regard to the release of Daniel Leonard from Provincial custody, upon completion of his sentence for public indecency.

Daniel Leonard (42), of Red Deer, is described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • 183cm (6’ 0”) and 93kg (195lbs)
  • Bald, known to have both facial hair and be clean shaven
  • Brown eyes.

Daniel Leonard has been convicted of multiple offences of sexual assault and indecent exposure against females.

The RCMP is issuing this information and warning after careful deliberation and consideration of all related issues, including privacy concerns, in the belief that it is clearly in the public interest to inform the members of the community of the release of Daniel Leonard.

Members of the public are advised that the intent of the process is to enable members of the public to take suitable precautionary measures and not to embark on any form of vigilante action. Anyone believing that a crime has been or is about to be committed is encouraged to call police. If the matter is felt to be of an urgent nature, please call 911 to report the location and circumstances.
