City Giving Away Block Heater Timers
By Sheldon Spackman
The City of Red Deer wants to help you save money and energy this winter. With that in mind, they’re giving away a limited supply of outdoor multi-use timers in exchange for your program commitment to use the timer throughout the winter with your block heater or outdoor lights. Participants are also being asked to complete a short follow up survey.
City officials say outdoor multi-use timers can also be used with Christmas lights or outdoor patio and landscape lighting. You can actually use the timers with any outdoor electric device as long as it is utilized to reduce energy consumption.
The timers can be reserved starting October 24th, with online registration being encouraged but you can also do so by calling the Kerry Wood Nature Centre or visiting them in person.
