Biden-Harris administration policies are resulting in Border Patrol agents releasing known or suspected terrorists (KSTs) into the U.S., a new congressional report states.

“The open-borders policies of President Joe Biden and border czar Vice President Kamala Harris have allowed millions of illegal aliens to enter the United States, including terrorist organizations and other bad actors looking to harm Americans,” creating a national security threat, the U.S. House Judiciary Committee and its Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement said in a new interim report released Monday.

It points to 99 KSTs released into the U.S. during a two-year period evaluated. It also cites original reporting by The Center Square on terrorism data and warnings given by national security experts about imminent terrorist threats stemming from the border crisis.

The report only appears to focus on KSTs apprehended between ports of entry at the southwest border, excluding the threat posed by the overwhelming majority apprehended at the northern border. Congressional reports continue to appear to only cite one KST data set, instead of four U.S. Customs and Border Protection reports: at and between ports of entry at both borders.

The trend continues in fiscal 2024, with 234 KSTs apprehended at the northern border and 125 at the southwest border, according to CBP data last updated July 15.

The total number of KSTs apprehended under the Biden administration is over 1,700, with the greatest number coming through the northern border, The Center Square first reported.

The greatest number of illegal border crossers have entered the U.S. while Biden’s been in office of over 12 million, including two million who evaded capture, known as gotaways, The Center Square first reported. Law enforcement officials estimate the gotaway number is underreported by between 10% and 20% and say they have no idea how many, who or where they are.

“Of the more than 250 illegal aliens on the terrorist watchlist who were encountered by Border Patrol at the southwest border between fiscal years 2021 and 2023, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released nearly 100 of them, with at least 34 others in DHS custody but not yet removed from the United States,” the report states, without clarifying the data solely refers to apprehensions at the southwest border between ports of entry.

The report notes that between fiscal years 2021 and 2023, Border Patrol agents apprehended “aliens on the terrorist watchlist from 36 different countries, including places with an active terrorist presence such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Kyrgyzstan, Mauritania, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Yemen,” solely referring to one data set.

“So far during fiscal year 2024, Border Patrol has encountered tens of thousands of illegal aliens nationwide from countries that could present national security risks, including 2,134 Afghan nationals, 33,347 Chinese nationals, 541 Iranian nationals, 520 Syrian nationals, and 3,104 Uzbek nationals,” the report states.

It refers to U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement officials arresting eight Tajik nationals with potential ISIS ties in June after Border Patrol agents released them into the country. If federal law were followed, they would have been processed for removal instead of being released into the country, former Border Patrol, ICE and CBP officials have told The Center Square.

The Biden-Harris administration released into the U.S. “at least three illegal aliens with potential ISIS ties after the aliens used the Administration’s CBP One app to arrive at a port of entry and be processed into the country,” the report notes, although a different report shows several hundred with ISIS ties were released into the U.S., The Center Square reported.

At a House Judiciary hearing last year, as well as other congressional hearings and in news interviews, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has repeatedly claimed “illegal aliens are adequately screened and ‘individuals who pose a threat to national security or public safety are detained,’” the report states. Several DHS Office of Inspector General reports have refuted his claim, providing evidence to the contrary, including foreign nationals not being vetted at airports.

The report also highlights problems in federal immigration courts, pointing to judges who “granted asylum, bond, and other immigration relief to potential terrorists.” The court problem has been compounded by hundreds of thousands of deportation cases being dismissed because DHS failed to file proper paperwork, The Center Square reported.

Elections Canada admitted that no background checks were conducted on volunteers, adding that it could not say for sure whether agents of the Chinese Communist Party infiltrated polls in the Aurora-Oak Ridges riding.

After a former MP revealed that agents of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) allegedly worked at the polls during the 2021 federal election, Elections Canada admitted it could not refute the statement made by the former elected official.

As reported by LifeSiteNews earlier this week, documents from a federal inquiry looking at meddling in Canada’s past two elections by foreign state actors show that agents of the CCP allegedly worked at Elections Canada polling centers in the 2021 campaign.

The documents show that former Conservative MP Leona Alleslev noted in a sworn affidavit that she was told by Chinese Canadians they knew foreign operatives were working at polling stations. She also noted that she had received many complaints from Chinese Canadians that they were too scared to vote.

As recently noted by Blacklock’s Reporter, Elections Canada said in a statement that “It would be impossible for us to make any kind of determination with certainty” about Alleslev’s claims. However, it noted that “we should note that there are safeguards present at every stage of the electoral process. Transparency is one of the key pillars of electoral democracy.”

“All poll workers sign a solemn declaration that they will be non-partisan while working at an election and protect the secrecy of the vote,” said Elections Canada, adding that it was their “job” to make it possible for “electors to vote in an orderly fashion.”

Elections Canada went on to admit that no background checks were conducted on volunteers, adding that it could not say for sure whether agents of the CCP infiltrated polls in the Aurora-Oak Ridges riding.

Alleslev lost the election and her seat to Liberal MP Leah Taylor Roy by 1,460 votes. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberals won the 2021 election by a narrow margin.

According to Alleslev’s affidavit, about “half the Chinese Canadian constituents she canvassed would tell Ms. Alleslev they were afraid to vote for her because they feared repercussions against themselves or their family members both in Canada and in China.”

“Some claimed they took the threat seriously because there were agents of the Chinese Communist Party working in the local Elections Canada office and in the polling stations or monitoring outside of the significantly reduced number of polling stations to watch who voted,” it read.

The commission is headed by Justice Marie-Josée Hogue, who had earlier said she and her lawyers will remain “impartial” and will not be influenced by politics. In January, Hogue said that she would “uncover the truth whatever it may be.”

As for Trudeau, he has praised China for its “basic dictatorship” and has labeled the authoritarian nation his favorite country other than his own.

Canada officials express alarm about terrorism threats, Americans about impact on US

In addition to members of Congress expressing alarm about national security threats at the U.S.-Canada border, members of the Conservative Party of Canada are blaming Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government for being responsible for creating them.

A Canadian House of Commons hearing was held Wednesday to investigate how the Trudeau government granted citizenship to a member of ISIS who allegedly plotted a terrorist attack against Canadians.

An Egyptian father and son were arrested last month for allegedly plotting a terrorist attack in the Toronto area after the father was admitted into Canada in 2018 and granted citizenship in 2024. This was after in 2015 the father allegedly appeared in an ISIS propaganda video, which was shown during the hearing.

Canadian authorities claimed to have thoroughly vetted him before granting him citizenship in May 2024 even though he had aggravated assault charges on his record from 2015 “for the benefit of the Islamic State somewhere outside Canada,” according to the hearing.

Members of the Conservative Party blasted Trudeau and his government, arguing a member of ISIS should not “have been allowed into Canada, let alone granted Canadian citizenship. Canadians deserve to feel safe in their own communities.”

A senior official of the Canada Border Services Agency told MPs that CBSA officers “made the best decisions that we could at that moment in time based on the information we had. Can we do a better job of collectively gathering some of that information? I don’t know. We need to determine that,” CBC reported.

The father and his son, who is not a Canadian citizen, face nine charges, including conspiracy to commit murder for the benefit or at the direction of a terrorist group, ISIS.

The father, Ahmed Fouad Mostafa Eldidi, was granted a visitor visa by the Trudeau government in 2018. He later filed a refugee claim, which was granted. Next, he was granted permanent resident status in 2021 and citizenship in May 2024, according to the hearing.

“This was allowed to happen even though Eldidi is alleged to have appeared dismembering a prisoner in an ISIS video published in 2015,” the Conservative Party of Canada said.

Canadian authorities also claimed the video “wasn’t available to officials who were screening” him, CBC reported. Canada’s Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc said there was “no way” Canadian officials could have known about the video.

The video was reportedly posted on Jihadology.net in June 2015, an American-based website that catalogues ISIS propaganda, according to information from the hearing.

In July, the pair were arrested only after French authorities alerted Canadians about alleged terrorist ties, first reported by Global News.

“If not for that late tip from a foreign government, it’s highly likely many innocent Canadians would be dead today,” the Conservative Party of Canada said. “Justin Trudeau has repeatedly claimed that his government has thorough screening at our borders, he has claimed he takes terrorism and national security seriously, but this foiled terror attack shows that this isn’t the case.”

The hearing was held one month after the Royal Canadian Mounted Police arrested a Canadian woman on terrorism-related offenses. The arrest stemmed “from an ongoing criminal investigation regarding allegations that the individual left Canada and traveled to Syria in 2015 to join ISIS,” the RCMP said in statement.

It was also held after MPs demanded answers about the arrest of a reporter when asking a Canadian minister why the Iranian Islamist Revolutionary Guard Corps hadn’t been designated as a terrorist organization. RCMP security detail reportedly grabbed and arrested the individual; the RCMP officer was reportedly put “under review.”

The reporter “was arrested and accosted on trumped-up charges by the RCMP,” Marilyn Gladu, a Conservative MP, said, adding the Trudeau government “has created a climate where journalists can face criminal charges for demanding answers on critical subjects.”

IRGC is a branch of the Iranian Armed Forces designated by the U.S. government as a foreign terrorist organization.

Members of Congress have called on the Biden administration to strengthen the U.S.-Canada border after the Trudeau government expanded entry to Gazans after the Hamas terrorist attack against Israel, The Center Square reported. The majority of Gazans voted Hamas into power and violent attacks against Jews in America and threats of terrorism have increased. While the Canadian Consul General in New York Tom Clark told The Center Square the Canadian government has “taken every step to ensure the security of Canadians and Americans is in no way jeopardized,” several U.S. and Canadian officials disagree.

Members of Congress have called for stronger security measures after the greatest number of known or suspected terrorists, including an Iranian with terrorist ties, have been apprehended by U.S. officials at the northern border under the Biden and Trudeau administrations since fiscal 2021, The Center Square first reported.

They total nearly 1,100, slightly more than one U.S. Army battalion.

Americans have expressed concerns about why a record number on the U.S. terrorist watch list are in Canada, aren’t being stopped by Canadian authorities prior to attempting to enter the U.S. and question how many more entered the U.S. from Canada who evaded capture.
