Red Deer Sea Cadets Hosting Open House Oct 20th
By Sheldon Spackman
Red Deer’s Sea Cadets are hosting an Open House Thursday evening in hopes of promoting their program and demonstrating to the public what they do and have some hands-on activities for inquiring visitors as well.
Sea Cadets is a program for youth between 12-19 to promote physical fitness, citizenship and community service. It teaches life skills, self discipline, team work, marksmanship and how to sail. In the summer, cadets get paid travel to Cadet training Centres for additional training.
Thursday night’s open house is at the Cormack Armoury located at 4402 55th street and runs from 6:00 – 9:00pm.
