The Red Deer Symphony Orchestra in partnership with Downtown Sounds @ Gaetz and Servus Credit Union is bringing Nine Lessons & Carols to life in Red Deer! A Festival of Nine Lessons & Carols is the Christmas Eve service held every year at the King’s College Chapel in Cambridge, U.K. It was introduced in 1918 to bring a more imaginative approach to worship. First broadcast in 1928, it is now broadcast each year to millions of people around the world. A unique blend of story and song, the program resonates with what the Christmas season is all about. Featuring all local talent, everyone in attendance is invited to sing along during traditional hymns and carols which are interspersed by powerful verse, delivered by engaging orators.
