Help The City Transform Centennial Plaza Park!
The City of Red Deer wants you to help transform Centennial Plaza Park.
You’re invited to join City officials down at Centennial Plaza Park Thursday between 3 and 6 p.m. for a family friendly event. The city is serving up free hot dogs and beverages. In return you’ll be asked for ideas on how to develop a safe and accessible space where you’d love to spend some time.
Centennial Plaza Park, located on 52 Avenue between 45 Street and 48 Street, was originally developed in 2001 to celebrate the Province of Alberta’s Centennial.
This community space currently includes an outdoor wading pool with spray fountains, a washroom facility, trails, irrigated landscape and a public art feature. The Historic Arches, now enhanced with historical plaques, along with the Michener Fountain have produced an interpretative area recognizing the significance of railroads to the history of downtown Red Deer.
But it’s the future that the City is concerned about now… and Thursday afternoon is your chance to make a difference at this downtown park.
