Winter Walk Day In Red Deer

Written by Sheldon Spackman / Photos by Lindsay Wiebe
About 450 students at Red Deer’s St. Teresa of Avila School braved the cold wind Wednesday afternoon to take part in a Winter Walk. Wednesday February 1st is Winter Walk Day across Canada and officials with Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools say walking at school on Winter Walk Day is a chance to be involved in daily physical activity, a healthier environment and safer streets. Students of St. Teresa took part in an outdoor walk around the school and the Glendale neighborhood in support of the occasion.
Winter Walk Day activities also took part on the grounds of Red Deer College today.
