Christmas Bureau Launches the “Linus Program”

Linus van Pelt is a major character in Charles M. Schulz’s comic strip Peanuts. And his primary identifying characteristic is his security blanket.
Looking for a unique and gratifying way to give something special this Christmas? The LINUS PROGRAM is a new initiative of the Red Deer Christmas Bureau designed to provide something really special for boys and girls ages 7-9. Whether you are someone who likes to make blankets, or you’re looking for a way to make a real difference in someone’s life, consider donating a new blanket to the Christmas Bureau.
A nice blanket is a universally coveted possession, and it’s clear that 7-9 year olds are either to old to play with children’s toys or too young for makeup, lego and electronic devices.
So why not blankets! They are a terrific gift idea and many different designs and types are available throughout the Christmas season. And they’re affordable. You can really feel good about providing a gift like this to the Christmas Bureau. You KNOW it will be well-used, loved and provide warmth and security to a kid in our community.
You can make your donation of a blanket directly at the Christmas Bureau. (#15 7428 49th Ave).
You can also make cash donations. Here is a comprehensive list of items that the Christmas Bureau needs. Please review the list and consider purchasing one or more of these items so that others might enjoy the magic of Christmas as well.
You can reach The Red Deer Christmas Bureau Society at 403-347-2210 or by emailing reddeerchristmasbureau@gmail.com.
