Red Deerians Ring In The Holiday Season Under The Lights Saturday Night
By Sheldon Spackman
Thousands of Red Deerians went down to City Hall Park on Saturday night to officially kick-off the Christmas Season in our city.
“Red Deer Lights the Night” gave residents the chance to stroll through the colourful lights of City Hall Park, visit a variety of vendors in the winter market and cozy up in the warming tent to enjoy some free popcorn and hot chocolate. There was also crafts and games for the kids and of course, a visit from Santa.
However, the highlight of the evening was the lighting of Red Deer’s biggest Christmas Tree next to City Hall on the northeast corner.
Presented by Stantec, Red Deer Lights The Night was hosted by the Downtown Business Association, Red Deer Public Library and The City of Red Deer.
