First Christmas in Canada!

You could be forgiven if you walked into St. Patrick’s Community School and forgot for just one minute where you were in the world. Several different languages are spoken in the hallways because the K to 9 School in Red Deer hosts hundreds of children from all over the planet. Students taking English as a Second Language flourish there because of a year round schedule and specialized services. But for many of these students, the Christmas season can be a touch lonely… especially their first Christmas away from their homeland and often away from extended family. That’s why the staff at St. Pat’s decided to throw a special party… The First Christmas in Canada Party. Click on the video and take in this special experience.

After 15 years as a TV reporter with Global and CBC and as news director of RDTV in Red Deer, Duane set out on his own 2008 as a visual storyteller. During this period, he became fascinated with a burgeoning online world and how it could better serve local communities. This fascination led to Todayville, launched in 2016.
