Town Of Innisfail Encouraging Residents To Help Their Neighbours This Christmas
By Sheldon Spackman
While many of us get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season, the Town of Innisfail is encouraging it’s residents to help out their neighbours this Christmas.
Town officials say Food Bank usage in the community is up 49 per cent, meaning the organization and its hard-working volunteers need as much support as they can get. The Innisfail Food Bank is located in the back of the Co-op Mall and is open every Tuesday from 1 to 3 p.m. Food and cash donations are accepted, with donations also being accepted at the CP Holiday Train this Friday, December 9th in Innisfail.
The Innisfail Christmas Bureau is also open for the season at the former ‘Tiki Hut’ in the Henday Mall. New, unwrapped donations may be dropped off Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. Donations are also accepted at the Innisfail Dairy Queen and at the Town Office during the day.
Finally, The Snow Angels program encourages residents to help shovel snow for those who can’t. Town officials say a few minutes of your time and a little bit of work can make a huge difference in the life of a fellow community member. You can register as an Angel through the Town Office.
