Celebrating the Hope that Christmas Brings Through a Warm Meal
On December 25th, The Mustard Seed staff, along with volunteers, will serve a traditional Christmas meal for those who come together around our tables. Christmas Dinner at The Mustard Seed is a time of community for those experiencing homelessness and poverty. We encourage those who need support, are missing family, or don’t want to be alone over the holidays to join us.
“Our Christmas dinner means so much for our shelter guests and community members, their holidays are not as joyful as those who have homes and families to celebrate with. For some, it’s the toughest time of the year. This is why our staff give their 110% during this dinner to show them that they are loved, they are cared for and they are supported.” says Dwayne Kraushar, Shelter Manager at The Mustard Seed in Red Deer. The hot meals we serve, and the warm welcoming is our way of showing our support to the vulnerable members of the community in Red Deer. We hope that being in a community of people that care for them can remind them of better days. We hope they can feel the love we put into the Christmas meal here at the Seed.
Christmas Dinner will take place at The Mustard Seed Shelter a on December 25th, at 5 pm. If you would like to consider donating to this special event, please visit www.theseed.ca.
