How should the City manage and protect urban trees?

Urban trees are an increasingly important City asset. They provide environmental, ecological, economic and social benefits to Edmontonians by purifying the air we breathe, contributing to urban biodiversity, providing wildlife habitat, beautifying our community, absorbing greenhouse gas emissions and providing a sense of well-being.

Citizens are invited to share their perspectives and insights on how the City should manage and protect public trees through an online survey or at a public drop-in session:

Date: Thursday, October 24

Time: 5 – 8 p.m.

Location: Londonderry Mall, 137 Avenue and 66 Street NW

Date: Saturday, October 26

Time: 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Location: Terwillegar Recreation Centre, 2051 Leger Road NW

Date: Wednesday, October 30

Time: 5 – 8 p.m.

Location: Mckernan Community League Hall, 11341 78 Avenue NW

The information collected will be aggregated and presented to City Council as part of three separate what-we-heard reports throughout 2020 and 2021. It will help the City better understand how Edmontonians think urban forestry should be managed and prioritized.
