Elon Musk expresses ‘regret’ over attacks on Trump that ‘went too far’

It remains to be seen whether the relationship between Elon Musk and President Donald Trump will be mended.

Tech mogul Elon Musk said Wednesday that he regrets “some” of his attacks on President Donald Trump stemming from disagreements with his so-called “Big Beautiful Bill,” though the two men remain far from reconciliation.

Passed last month by the U.S. House of Representatives and now before the Senate for consideration, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (BBB) aims to enact large portions of Trump’s legislative agenda through the budget reconciliation process, which requires only a simple majority vote in the Senate rather than the typical 60-vote threshold for standalone legislation.

It extends the 2017 Trump tax cuts, institutes various other tax changes proposed by Trump on the campaign trail, and includes several other conservative priorities, including funding for border security efforts, defunding Planned Parenthood, eliminating many “green” energy subsidies, and more.

However, it faces conservative opposition over estimates that it will add a minimum of $2.4 trillion to the federal deficit over the next decade; last week, the bill’s failure to include or be prefaced by codifying the spending cuts of the administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) project led to a dramatic falling out between Trump and former DOGE head Musk.

Musk lobbed numerous posts against Trump last week, primarily focused on the fiscal impact of the BBB, the most eyebrow-raising of which was that “@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public,” followed by “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.” Trump shot back that Musk had “lost his mind” and suggested he was really upset by the prospect of losing electric vehicle subsidies, although Musk was on the record opposing those subsidies.

The Trump Justice Department’s failure so far to release significant new information about dead pedophile Jeffrey Epstein has been a source of consternation, renewing speculation that such records might implicate Trump himself. The president was one of Epstein’s many high-profile associates, having flown on Epstein’s private jet, but no evidence linking Trump to Epstein’s crimes has ever emerged, and in fact Trump eventually banned him from his Mar-a-Lago club for assaulting an underage girl.

“I was hired to lead Jeffrey Epstein’s defense as his criminal lawyer 9 days before he died. He sought my advice for months before that. I can say authoritatively, unequivocally, and definitively that he had no information to hurt President Trump,” attorney David Schoen said after Musk’s post.

Musk deleted the charge, and on Wednesday posted, “I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far.”

For his part, Trump told New York Post columnist Miranda Devine he has “no hard feelings” with Musk and “could” eventually mend their relationship, “but we have to straighten out the country.” After Musk’s retraction, Trump said, “I thought it was very nice that he did that.”

The administration and its defenders promise that separate legislation to codify DOGE cuts is still coming, starting with a $9.4 billion rescission package that primarily cuts from foreign aid and public broadcasting.

“While $9.4 billion may be small in the context of $7 trillion of annual spending, this practice can help build muscle memory and encourage policymakers to tackle the larger spending programs in the future,” the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget says. “However, we’d be remiss to not point out that this package comes in the context of potential enactment of a reconciliation bill adding $3 trillion to the debt over the next decade – the equivalent of more than 300 times the amount of these rescissions.”

On June 9, House conservatives circulated a memo urging the Senate to make further changes to the BBB before passing it, including deeper spending cuts, closing loopholes in the abortion and green defunding, and eliminating language that would prohibit states and localities from regulating artificial intelligence for 10 years.

Anti-Trump protests planned across the country on Saturday as LA violence continues

By Doug Mainwaring

The ‘No Kings’ demonstrations will take place as anti-Trump rioting in Los Angeles continues to escalate and has already spread to other Democrat-run big cities.

A massive campaign is underway to foment potentially violent anti-Trump, anti-MAGA protests across the U.S. on Flag Day, Saturday, June 14.

The planned “No Kings” (NK) rallies are described as a “nationwide day of defiance” to “reject authoritarianism.” Organizers say they expect millions of people to protest at over 1,500 locations throughout all 50 states.

While intended to appear as a national grassroots movement against the president and the America First values he stands for, the rallies are highly planned, centrally-coordinated, and promoted by deep-pocketed individuals and woke, neo-Marxist organizations and politicians.

More than 100 leftist groups, portraying themselves as “pro-democracy” activists, are partnering with the NK effort.

NK’s call to action is based on absurd, if not outright mendacious, leftist assertions concerning the Trump administration and MAGA:

NO KINGS is a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to the increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption of the Trump administration. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political positions, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts.

We’re standing together against the abuses of power, cruelty, and corruption. On June 14, we gather to remind President Trump and his enablers: America has No King!

While NK organizers claim that they will hold peaceful demonstrations, the rallies will likely attract violent radicals.

The NK rallies come as the violence and destruction of the anti-ICE havoc in Los Angeles continues to escalate and has already begun to spread to other Democrat-run big cities.

“Things are getting out of control in New York CIty, other cities expected to follow as early as tomorrow,” said Colonel Douglas McGregor on X.

“Large scale CLASHES are now breaking out between anti-ICE rioters and police in CHICAGO,” wrote Nick Sortor on X.

“Anti-ICE riots have now spread to ATLANTA,” noted Sortor in a second X post. “It’s being described as a ‘WARZONE.’

“Hundreds of anti-ICE protesters making their way through downtown Denver,” said  radio host Jeana Gondek on X.  “Riot police, SWAT, & other authorities responded to break up a demonstration. A police drone gives a warning saying all reasonable force will be utilized to deny highway access.”

And violence erupted yesterday in Seattle as ANTIFA attacked a federal building, according to The Post Millennial reporter Katie Daviscourt.

The rallies will create a stark contrast with the patriotic America 250 military parade and festival in Washington, D.C., celebrating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army’s founding, which will also take place on June 14.

While No Kings has strategically chosen to abstain from sponsoring a rally in D.C. – ostensibly to prevent the Nation’s capital from being “the center of gravity” – it’s more likely that organizers fear bad optics should their participants attack America 250 attendees and military equipment.

That hasn’t stopped another group, “Refuse Fascism,” from planning to bus people from New York City to D.C. to protest the military parade and associated festivities.

“The LA open-border riots are spreading and they want to incite violence against Trump supporters,” said X user “Hillbilly?” who first alerted the public to the group’s plan.

Telegram founder Pavel Durov exposes crackdown on digital privacy in Tucker Carlson interview

Published on

From LifeSiteNews

By Robert Jones

Durov, who was detained in France in 2024, believes governments are seeking to dismantle personal freedoms.

Tucker Carlson has interviewed Telegram founder Pavel Durov, who remains under judicial restrictions in France nearly a year after a surprise arrest  left him in solitary confinement for four days — without contact with his family, legal clarity, or access to his phone.

Durov, a Russian-born tech executive now based in Dubai, had arrived in Paris for a short tourist visit. Upon landing, he was arrested and accused of complicity in crimes committed by Telegram users — despite no evidence of personal wrongdoing and no prior contact from French authorities on the matter.

In the interview, Durov said Telegram has always complied with valid legal requests for IP addresses and other data, but that France never submitted any such requests — unlike other EU states.

Telegram has surpassed a billion users and over $500 million in profit without selling user data, and has notably refused to create government “backdoors” to its encryption. That refusal, Durov believes, may have triggered the incident.

French prosecutors issued public statements, an unusual move, at the time of his arrest, fueling speculation that the move was meant to send a message.

At present, Durov remains under “judicial supervision,” which limits his movement and business operations.

Carlson noted the irony of Durov’s situating by calling to mind that he was not arrested by Russian President Vladimir Putin but rather a Western democracy.

Former President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has said that Durov should have stayed in Russia, and that he was mistaken in thinking that he would not have to cooperate with foreign security services.

“In the US,” he commented, “you have a process that allows the government to actually force any engineer in any tech company to implement a backdoor and not tell anyone about it.”

Durov also pointed to a recent French bill — which was ultimately defeated in the National Assembly — that would have required platforms to break encryptions on demand. A similar EU proposal is now under discussion, he noted.

Despite the persecution, Durov remains committed to Telegram’s model. “We monetize in ways that are consistent with our values,” he told Carlson. “We monetized without violating privacy.”

There is no clear timeline for a resolution of Durov’s case, which has raised serious questions about digital privacy, online freedom, and the limits of compliance for tech companies in the 21st century.
