By Sheldon Spackman
After a long and exhaustive search, the Board of Directors for the Red Deer and District Chamber of Commerce have announced the hiring of a new CEO for the organization. Robin Bobocel who hails from Edmonton, will take over the role from interim CEO Rick More starting July 4th, 2017.
Chamber officials say Bobocel brings a wealth of experience to the job, including being Chief of Staff to the Minister of Innovation and Advanced Education, Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Policy of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce and most recently serving as Executive Director of Concrete Alberta. Bobocel was also the owner and operator of a government relations consulting company with operations in three cities across Western Canada.
In a release, Chamber President Bradley Williams commented on behalf of the Board of Directors saying, “After an exhaustive search, we are confident that Robin has the right combination of education, experience, and skills to lead the Chamber forward.”
Bobocel tells Todayville that he’s very grateful for the opportunity and Thanks the Board and Chamber staff for being so welcoming towards him and his family and adding he plans to learn all he can from the community about being a Red Deerian and Central Albertan.
