Drill Baby Drill Is Working

Well, so much from the vaunted renewable energy “transition” to save the planet. This was always a fable. We get 80 percent of our energy from fossil fuels, and with Trump now in the White House that ratio is rising, not falling.

A Reuters headline from recent days tells the real story: “US crude production to hit record 13.41 million billion barrels in 2025 before falling.”

The data from the International Energy Administration tells the same story about clean natural gas: we’re producing more of it than ever before.  Why shouldn’t we?  The U.S. has greater access to clean, cheap, reliable, and made-in-America natural gas than any other nation.  Natural gas is far cheaper and less land intensive than ugly wind and solar farms that industrialize America’s natural landscape beauty.

All told, American energy in the ground is a $50 trillion treasure chest right under our feet. The commercial value of this abundant rest is – nearly enough to pay off our entire national debt. We would be lunatic to leave it in the ground.

The rapid revival of America as an energy superpower under Trump should come as no surprise. It’s the continuation of a 15- year trend thanks to the fracking and horizontal drilling revolution that has nearly tripled U.S. annual production.

Even under Biden – who was as green as Poison Ivy – oil and gas production hit new highs.  But that was mostly due to the sharp rise in oil prices when Biden became president.

Crude was over $100 in 2022 and generally ranged between $70 and $85 for the rest of Biden’s term. At $100 a barrel, drillers will search for oil in your backyard.  If it were not for Biden’s environmental regulations and the cancellation of vital energy infrastructure, such as the Keystone XL pipeline, we would have produced far more oil under Biden. Gas wouldn’t have gone up to $5 a gallon.

What’s impressive about the Donald Trump oil production spike is that it’s happened even as the spot oil global price has fallen. In other words, we’re getting the best of both worlds: made-in-America energy AND low prices at the pump.  The Energy Information Administration reports forecasts that gas prices will keep falling to below $3 a gallon by next year.  That is, unless you live in California where gas still costs above $5 a gallon.

Let’s not forget the national security benefits from this pro-drilling strategy.  More U.S. drilling means less profits for Iran, Russia and other enemies of freedom.  It weakens Putin’s hand and drives him to the negotiating table since the Russian economy is dependent on natural gas exports for survival.

This story is a helpful reminder that policy directly impacts everyone’s life and that a president’s policies matter.  Biden’s first executive order was to cancel the Keystone XL pipeline to slow oil and gas delivery across the country. The first day executive order from Trump was to make oil and gas production a national security and economic priority.

As a result, we are looking at a future with America dominating global energy markets and prices here at home continuing to fall.

Baton-wielding protesters stormed the COP30 summit in Belem, Brazil, on Tuesday, with video showing some dressed in indigenous outfits, according to multiple reports.

The COP30 summit is the 30th annual meeting of parties to the United Nations’ Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC), an agreement to reach “net-zero” carbon emissions by 2050, according to the conference’s website. Video posted on X and aired by the BBC showed the protesters kicking doors and forcing their way into the building.

“We can’t eat money. We want our lands free from agribusiness, oil exploration, illegal miners and illegal loggers,” an indigenous leader named Nato told Reuters.

Two security guards were injured in the fracas, with one being taken out in a wheelchair while holding his stomach, Sky News reported.

Past COP summits have seen speakers propose taxes on the meat and dairy industry and “climate finance” initiatives for less-developed countries. The Biden administration signed on to a pledge to start “transitioning away from fossil fuels” at the United Nations COP28 climate summit on Dec. 13, 2023.

Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom of California attended the summit, where he labeled President Donald Trump “an invasive species” and “a wrecking-ball president” who was “doubling down on stupid.” Newsom also announced an agreement between California and Nigeria, which was declared a “country of particular concern” due to persecution of Christians.

Ex-Terrorist Leader Goes On Fox News, Gives Wild Answer About 9/11

Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa deflected responsibility for the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks during a Fox News interview on Monday.

Nearly 3,000 people died across New York City, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Pa. during the 9/11 attacks, according to the Pew Research Center. When asked directly on “Special Report with Bret Baier” if he regrets the attack, al-Sharaa distanced himself entirely from the event.

“I was only 19 years old, so I was a very young person, and I didn’t have any decision-making power at that time, and I don’t have anything to do with it,” al-Sharaa said. “And al-Qaeda was not present right then in my area. So you’re speaking to the wrong person about this subject.”

The Syrian leader then shifted the conversation.

“We mourn for every civilian that got killed, and we know that people suffer from the war, especially civilians who pay the price, a hefty price for the war,” al-Sharaa said.

President Donald Trump hosted al-Sharaa at the White House on Monday, welcoming the former al-Qaeda member who once fought U.S. forces in Iraq and served time in Abu Ghraib prison. The U.S. government removed al-Sharaa from its terror list just days before his meeting with Trump, according to CBS News.

Al-Sharaa, who led a rebel coalition that toppled Bashar al-Assad’s regime in December 2024 while heading the militant group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, has since recast himself as a pro-Western reformer. Legacy media outlets have described his government as “moderate” compared to Assad’s rule.

The visit marks the first time a Syrian head of state has entered the White House since Syria gained independence in 1946, NPR reported. Trump, during a speech in Saudi Arabia, said in May that he would lift U.S. sanctions on Syria.
